Haven't posted in awhile because I haven't felt like it! Haha! Posting about the Tour de France because it is simply amazing right now as they continue riding into the Pyrenees. Intense fight between Denis Menchov and Samuel Sanchez for the 3rd place podium finish. Vicious duel between Andy Schleck and Ablerto Contador throughout the Tour.
The race was quite mellow for all the top riders until the last climb. Into the last climb the fight for position and time became more prominent. Andy Schleck and Alberto Contador keeping a close eye on each other as they ride up the twelve mile climb up the Col de Bales (Sp?). Andy Schleck attacks in the middle of the climb! But there is a late reaction from Alberto Contador. . . Unexpectdly Schleck suffers a mechanical failure! His chain had fallen off the cranks! Taking advantage of this mechanical failure, Contador attacks Schleck.
Schleck, who is enraged, begins the chase for Contador. The chase continues on the down hill to the finish with speeds that can reach up to 55 mph. The heated battle continues even after the previous day's gruesome ride in stage 14.
Between Menchov and Sanchez there is another battle going on as they battle for 3rd place overall. Throughout the whole race they are keep each other in check. When one accelerates the other grabs the wheel!
In the end stage 15 is won by Voeckler who was from an earlier break away. The yellow jersey is lost by Schleck to Contador by eight seconds due to a mechanical failure. Menchov and Sanchez are still in a statemate! Neither have lost time nor gained time on the other as they continue to grind it out in the Pyrenees. Hoping for more exciting bike races to come! :)
